I was skeptical in general of the entire Seaweed skincare line, but decided to take the plunge one day during a 40% off sale after trying the Tea tree oil skincare products only to not be impressed with the smell and how some of the products worked for my skin. This line however is a game changer for combination to oily skin. As I've gotten older my skin has started to become slightly less oily, but I am still prone to breakouts. This overnight gel moisturizer works wonders and keeps my face hydrated without making it greasy.
I was always hesitant to use a moisturizer because it seemed a counterproductive thing to do having oily skin, but since actually using a 3 step system of using a cleanser, toner and moisturizer my skin has improved dramatically, and I now realize that before when I was skipping this 3rd step,that though I was removing the daily gunk from my pores with a cleanser and toner, I was also doing nothing to gently rehydrate my skin after stripping it of impurities. This then left my face in a vicious cycle where my skin would over compensate by producing extra oil which only clogged my pores and led to more breakouts. Since using this product at night my skin has cleared up, my skin feels refreshed, and I don't need to use as much powder or foundation when applying makeup because it's not melting off in an oil slick by mid morning.
The bottle is on the smaller size but a little does go a long way. I hope The Body Shop never discontiues this line of products since it took me a decade of trial and error to find products that are affordable and work for my skin. This overnight gel truly is a game changer and makes my morning routine quicker.
