Our gel cream is ideal for combination skin. Hydrating yet lightweight, this cream helps to balance oil and excess sebum, leaving a matte, shine-free complexion.
So to start, I have oily skin and never had acne until my 20's when I got adult acne. I take two different medications and they really dry out my skin. For years I just let it happen, because those of us with oily skin tend to take any dryness we can get. Recently I decided I need to make a change and add moisturizer to my routine. I found a solid serum from Lush that I LOVE for ending my nighttime routine, as I use my strongest acne med at that time as well. It's great, but takes a while to soak into my skin.
However my problem was finding a moisturizer to use in the mornings after my skin routine. My skin would look great from my overnight care, but after I put on a couple of dermatologist-recommended moisturizes (cerave and eucerin) I tried...it was horribly greasy. I then tried a couple of Lush's lightest moisturizers but they still didn't work for my skin type. Since I'm so oily AND acne prone if I get too oily I start breaking out bad in big whiteheads. Which is what happened when I tried their products. I was getting really disheartened and didn't know if I'd ever find the right moisturizer for me, but did more research and discovered "gel" moisturizers. They are supposed to be better for oily skin. I stopped by The Body Shop the other day to give it a try. (As you can tell I like to get my skincare products from cruelty free shops!).
It seemed pricey for the amount. I knew a little would go a LONG way, but it's a lot to chance when you don't know if it'll work. (Whereas my Lush products I could sample). I took the plunge and bought this and I have to way...wow. It's really changed things for me. It goes on easy and absorbs into my skin fast--and then it leaves a matte finish! I do not wear make up so how my face looks is how it's gonna be for the day. I couldn't be happier. I really love this product.
For the record this is my morning and night routine if it helps anyone in deciding if this is right for them
Morning: Cleanse with Fresh Farmacy (Lush) Toner (Thayer's Rose Petal/Aloe/Witch Hazel) Acne medication Seaweed oil-control gel (Body Shop)
Evening: Cleanse with Coal Face (Lush) Toner (Thayer's Rose Petal/Aloe/Witch Hazel) Acne medication Full of Grace solid serum (Lush)
So far this is helping to get my skin back to normal after the previous moisturizers wrecked my face.
